My friend, Katie, came down on Saturday and she, Nicole, and I ran around town and shenaniganed it up.
First, I told Katie that she didn't need to worry about her 'something blue' and that she didn't need to buy a garter. Last week I went online and bought this for the biggest Cowboys fan I know. It came in the mail on Saturday. Hell yes!!
So I gave her the mail package and told her to open it. She did, looked at it, and said "Oh! that's cute.". Huh. Not the reaction I was hoping for. Then she turned it over and saw the Cowboys star and it and proceeded to flip the eff out. There we go! That's a little more like it! She's pissed that one has to actually be thrown and, therefore, lost at the wedding. So we've decided to put Nic's boyfriend, Rob, in charge of winning it so he can give it back to her. The man loves a challenge, so we have no doubt that, come hell or high water (or broken noses or thrown elbows), Katie will walk away with both :)
One of our main goals for the day was to find Katie a flower to wear in her hair at her wedding. There were some really pretty ones at the bridal shop, but $150 for a fake flower seems a bit...recockulous. I knew we could find an awesome cheap one. We flitted about the mall, and a pair of boots (I have GOT to stop) pulled me into the Steve Madden stor
e. For me to buy yet another pair of boots, they need to be spectacularly perfect. These were not. Phew! But then I saw these. The photographer should clearly have not used a flash, because they aren't that shiny. But they're effing PERFECT to wear with my short black bridesmaids dress!!! Plus, the back reminds me of a rattlesnake, which reminds me of my grandparents place in Winters, which reminds me of awesome. Sigh...I LOVE THEM.
Next up, we headed across the street to Santana Row, to continue our quest for a flower. Urban Outfitters TOTALLY disappointed. Boo on them. We headed over to H&M, and I found a packet of 2 smaller flowers that would be perfect! If they weren't bright coral orange color. Only my grandma Georgia can pull off bright coral orange (lipstick). I mentioned that it was too bad that they didn't have them in a cream color and we went on our merry way.
Across the store, Katie hollered. She found them in cream! PERFECTION!! The best part? They rang in at a whopping $4!! Total success.
The evening was topped off at The Parents Haines house. Sausage, wine (lots. and lots), potato salad. Droooool.....

It was a typical dinner at our house. Toooo much wine and tons and tons of laughter. I love all my girls and kids and family. I also love cooking for everyone who loves my food!
