Saturday was the big day. I got my sister tickets to her first Dave Matthews Band concert for her college graduation. My sister, Faryn, and I started off the evening with dinner at my favorite sushi place OF ALL TIME, Tokyo Sushi. Seriously? NO other sushi place that I have ever been to even compares. A few rolls later and it was time to cruise down to lovely Chula Vista. Dear San Diego: Chula Vista? Really? That's the best place you could think of to put an outdoor amphitheater? Mmmmk.
We got there and parked, shocked that parking was FREE!! Woot! We pulled out the 24's of Budlight, and worked on chugging those down, chillin in my old marshmallow honda hatchback, lovingly passed down to my sisters possession (enough commas in that sentence?). I'm an awesome influence. Keepin it classy.
We hiked a good quarter mile up to the amphitheater to get our seats on the lawn. Long story short, the Dave Matthews Band puts on some of the best concerts. This wasn't one of their best, as they played a LOT of new songs, which I'm not really too big on. It still rocked though, even though we apparently were in the ONLY section on the lawn where people SAT during the entire concert. Dear sitters: YOURE DOIN IT WRONG. One couple behind us actually asked to switch places with us because we were standing in front of them. Whatever. Nothing was going to ruin Faryn's first DMB concert experience! All in all, it was a pretty successful night.
